Thieving Skill Guide From 1-99 In Runescape

Thieving is a skill that takes the most amount of time, and the rewards to begin with are small, but they begin to grow and you will manage to get a profit eventually!

If your wanting to try out the members only skill thievery the best way to get a quick boost of experience for it is to do the quest “Buyers and Cellars”. For this you will need a ‘dodgy flyer’ by either talking to Men and women NPC’s or pickpocketing them. The way i got mine was to pickpocket the group of men WEST of varrock toward Taverley.

Once you get the Dodgy flyer, read it and it will offer you to join the thieves guild (with a lot of boasts about being famous etc.) . You can either find this place by yourself or, read on to find out where it is the thieves guild is in the cellar north of lumbridge furnace by the side of the house, it is surrounded by stones and weeds/long grass.

Once you go in you will talk to the man about you wantng to help him expand the cellar, you can practice on the dummy for a quick 8xp over and over again until you’re level 5. You need to be level 5 thieving for this quest. You are told to meet a man called ‘Robin’, he is situated in the south wall of lumberbridge catsle inside the ground. Talk to him and he will tell you that the Chalice has been taken away by an old man, going towards the lumberbridge swamp. Run to the swamp and find the man’s ( Father Urhneys ) house. Talk to him about the Chalice and he will NOT let you touch it, only go near the glass case. When you go to pick-pocket him it says he is very alert for an old man….

The way to solve this is to run back to ‘Robin’ and he will give you a tinderbox to make a distraction. If you dont have any logs, collect some from the top floor of lumberbridge castle then run back to Father Urhneys house and light a fire right next to one of his windows. If it is more one block or more away it will not work. When you have lit the fire, ask Father Urhney about the chalice, and choose the option “Fire! FIRE!” After that carry on the conversation for one text block then attempt to pick pocket him, if you pick pocket him before he complains about kids you will get the key. Unlock the chalice case and run away with the takings!!

You will then get access to the level 1 resources at the thieves guild and minimal ways to train to get “Hanky points” You can trade these in for xp. You can, if you want , to do the secondary quest when you can about stealing a Ruby dragon toy of a stall at Varrock. But you do not need to do this unless you want to upgrade the thieves guild.

After you get to your level you’re at, just steal from the highest level thing you can steal/pick pocket from. then just carry on from there! Alternatively, you can do the quest “The Feud” so you can gain access to the usage of ‘BlackJacks’ AKA Training cosh’s in the theives guild.
